If Charlie ages 7 years for every calendar year and he is 13 years old, how old is he in dog years? Charlie is 91 years old and still enjoys running on a team–imagine your Grandpa still jogging right along side you. Why is Charlie still healthy? How many calories does he burn? How much food does he eat in a week if he gets 3/4 lb of dog food and 3/4 of meat? Follow an Iditarod team through training and their race, keep a journal on your experiences in the kennel, read a book about Balto. These are all examples of how to make learning math, history, geography, science, writing and reading fun and interesting to a child that may not fit so well into a traditional school setting. Dogs & kids are always a hit and that interaction can assist in learning basic concepts–home schoolers & High schoolers welcome too!
