How do I create a FundaRental account?

  1. Create an account: If you don’t have a FundaRental account yet, go to FundaRental and click Sign Up.
  2. You can sign up using your email. Signing up and creating a FundaRental account is free.
  • Create a username
  • Enter your email address
  • Add a password and retype password
  • Choose if you would like to book a rental or if you would like to create a listing for your rental.
  • Check the Terms and Conditions box.
  • Click the Create an Account tab.

How do I reset/update my password?

  • Click on the password login tab.
  • Type in your email address and click the reset password tab
  • Enter the email address you use for FundaRental, and you’ll be emailed a link to reset your password.

What if my rented item becomes damaged or stolen?

We here at FundaRental are not responsible for damaged or stolen equipment.
We do strongly encourage the vendor to have the renter sign a contract or collect a
damage deposit before the item is delivered or picked up.

How much does it cost to list an item?

Listing an item on FundaRental has ALWAYS been free. However, once a reservation has been confirmed by the vendor, FundaRental will take a 10% commission on the final reservation fee.

How will I receive notification of a pending rental?

You will receive notification through the email address you provided. You will also be notified via SMS text through the phone number you provided when you registered.

How long will my listing stay active?

Your listing will remain active until you decide to remove it from the site. You can also disable a listing if you wish to temporarily remove your item. You can very easily enable your listing with the click of a button

How to put an inventory item on hold?

You can disable an item if you wish to suspend receiving reservations. When logged into dashboard, click on My Listings and toggle the ‘play’ button to ‘pause’. Pause will disable listing, play will enable it.

How do I change the order of your images and select featured image?

  • Double Click on the image to select featured.
  • You can change images order with Drag & Drop. This may not work on some smart phones, so ensure you are editing from a desktop computer.

Why FundaRental?

Why FundaRental?

FundaRental has had an online presence since 2007, with thousands of successful reservations made through the website. A wide range of rental items have steadily been added over the years, mostly by private parties, which not only saves the renter money but increases business for the vendor.
Traffic has also increased every year since its inception. In fact, in July 2019 FundaRental hit an all time high in number of visitors. After evaluating customer feedback we have decided to do a complete overhaul and remodel the website.

We believe the new website will be much more user friendly and mobile friendly for both the renter and the vendor. This should make it much easier for the renter to reserve an item and pay for the rental directly through the website.

The vendor will have a lot of features as well. When a renter places a reservation, you will receive a SMS text message, so you will know instantly when you have a reservation. The renter will also make a payment directly through the website which helps you get paid quicker and adds credibility to the renter.

Fees and commissions

Listing your rental on FundaRental has ALWAYS been 100% free. However, once your rental has been reserved and paid for by the renter, FundaRental will take a 10% commission fee on the final reservation total fee. Credit card fees are currently included (no additional charge) however if overages must be deducted from deposit, these charges are subject to 3% credit card processing fee.

All payments to owners are processed via PayPal only. Customers may pay with PayPal or Credit Card (via Stripe platform).

Deposits are refunded up to 7 days after reservation completion, to give time for owner to ensure no damage claims.

How to upload an image

How to upload an image

1. Login to your account
2. Click on your username in the upper right corner. Click on my listings.
3. Locate your rental listing that you would like to add images to, click on the edit property (pencil icon) on the lower left side of listing.
4. Click on images under user menu
5. Click the select media tab to upload pictures. Add as many images as you would like. Double click the image you would like featured, use drag and drop to change the order of your images.
6. Add a YouTube or Vimeo video. Note: If using YouTube video, you only need to put in the code at the end of address. For example, for the YouTube address https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cjGsnDkDWxE
You will only need: cjGsnDkDWxE

How to Create a Listing
  1. Click the “add your listing” tab in the upper right corner
  2. Fill in the description information for your rental
    • Title
    • Choose a category that best fits your rental
    • Choose the location of your rental
    • Describe your rental: Please be as specific as possible. The more information the renter has the better.
    • Click the Continue tab
  3. Fill in your username and password if you already have an account and go to step 5. If not, fill out the create an account form
  4. Choose a username
  5. Fill in your email (double check before submitting)
    • Choose a password and retype password
    • Check the I want to rent my property box
    • Check the agree to terms and conditions box
    • Login using your username and password
  6. Be sure your description is the way you want it (you can edit later) Click the save tab
  7. Price your rental
    • Choose if your rental will be priced by per day/night or hourly
    • Price your rental
    • Add tax % if applicable
    • Adjust pricing for extended rentals if you wish
    • Add a security deposit if you wish
    • Add any extra options your rental may have and price. Some examples: Cleaning fee, delivery fee, generator etc.
  8. Add pictures/videos of your item
    • Click the select media tab to upload pictures. Add as many images as you would like. Double click the image you would like featured, use drag and drop to change the order of your images.
  9. Add a YouTube or Vimeo video. Note: If using YouTube video, you only need to put in the code at the end of address. For example, for the YouTube address https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cjGsnDkDWxE, You will only need: cjGsnDkDWxE
  10. Type in any additional feature bullets
  11. Fill out the location of your listing, use pin placement for accuracy
  12. Amenities and features: Please check all boxes that apply to your item
  13. Block any dates that your rental is unavailable
